It all started…
We’re Scott and Wendy Feller and we enjoy raising sheep. In 2001, three years after we had made Indiana our home, we found a small piece of farm land outside of town where we created Silver Valley Farm. We came up with the name by using part of each family farm where we both grew up in Oregon. Scott’s family owned Silver Creek Farm and Wendy’s family owned Evans Valley Farm. We wanted a place to raise our two children that would allow us to return to our roots as part time farmers. Our kids were able to experience farm life and enjoyed participating in 4-H. After the kids went to college and started their own lives, Wendy crafted a small business of selling lamb, hand dyed farm yarn and handmade soaps.
We have been raising sheep in Montgomery County since the farm was purchased. In 2009, we began attending local farmers markets selling our lamb cuts to the local community. Our customers have found our lamb to be a much more flavorful, quality product than any lamb purchased in the grocery store. In 2016, we teamed together with three local vendors from the farmers market to open Four Seasons Local Market. This small local foods store was embraced by the community and continues today. Our pasture raised lamb is available at Four Seasons Local Market year round. In 2022, the store relocated to 128 S Washington Street in Crawfordsville, Indiana. They have expanded their hours from Wednesday through Friday from 3 - 6 pm and Saturdays 9 - 5 pm.
